Carhart Plumbing is seeking an experienced Residential & Commercial Service Plumbing Technician to join our Service Division.

This position is ideal for a skilled plumber who takes pride not only in doing the job correctly, but also in delivering an exceptional customer experience. Our technicians work throughout Palm Beach, Martin, and St. Lucie Counties serving homeowners, estate managers, property managers, business owners, facility managers, designers, builders, and commercial clients.

That means communicating clearly, working neatly, documenting accurately, respecting the property, and leaving every work area clean and orderly.

What You’ll Do

As a Carhart Plumbing Service Technician, you will perform residential and commercial plumbing diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, fixture replacements, and installations in properties ranging from private residences and estates to offices, retail spaces, and commercial facilities.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Diagnose residential and commercial plumbing problems accurately.

• Perform plumbing repairs, maintenance, replacements, and installations.

• Clearly explain plumbing problems and recommended solutions to clients.

• Present repair options before beginning additional work.

• Protect floors, walls, cabinetry, furniture, landscaping, and finished surfaces.

• Use drop cloths, shoe protection, barriers, and clean work practices when appropriate.

• Maintain a clean, professional appearance.

• Keep your company vehicle, tools, materials, and safety equipment organized and ready.

• Photograph and document job-site conditions before, during, and after work when appropriate.

• Accurately document labor, materials, findings, and recommended next steps.

• Use company iPads, tablets, email, InFlow, and other company systems for service documentation and communication.

• Request materials, specialty equipment, stock, or additional support before they create delays.

• Coordinate professionally with office staff, service management, property managers, contractors, designers, and other trades.

• Identify additional plumbing concerns when observed and communicate them responsibly without unnecessary pressure or alarm.

• Assist or direct apprentices and helpers when assigned.

• Follow company safety procedures, applicable Florida plumbing requirements, manufacturer specifications, and accepted plumbing trade practices.

Residential & Commercial Customer Service

Our technicians often work inside occupied homes, luxury residences, estates, offices, and operating businesses.

Professionalism is essential.

You will be expected to:

• Communicate with clients before arrival as directed.

• Arrive on time and notify the office immediately of delays.

• Introduce yourself professionally.

• Confirm the purpose and scope of the service visit.

• Ask about property-specific requirements before beginning work.

• Maintain a calm, professional, solution-oriented attitude.

• Minimize noise, dust, debris, and disruption to the home or business.

• Keep doors and gates secured when required.

• Never use client furniture, tools, supplies, or equipment without permission.

• Respect client privacy and confidentiality.

• Never discuss client identities, valuables, security systems, property information, or work performed outside authorized company communications.

• Provide a clear explanation of what was found, what was repaired, what remains, and any recommended follow-up.

• Verify proper operation of the repaired system before leaving.

• Remove debris and protective materials.

• Leave the work area clean, organized, and presentable.

What We’re Looking For

Strong Plumbing & Diagnostic Ability

You should be able to troubleshoot plumbing systems, isolate the cause of problems, determine whether repair or replacement is appropriate, and complete service work efficiently without sacrificing workmanship.

Good Judgment

You will be working independently in occupied homes and commercial properties.

You must know when you can solve a problem yourself — and when additional authorization, technical support, or management involvement is appropriate.

Excellent Communication

You must be able to clearly explain plumbing problems and repair options to homeowners, business owners, facility managers, property managers, and other client representatives.

Professionalism & Discretion

Our technicians frequently work in high-value residences, private homes, commercial facilities, and sensitive environments.

Professional appearance, respectful conduct, confidentiality, and good judgment are essential.

Time & Service Management

You should be able to manage service calls efficiently, maintain accurate time and job records, and communicate early when a job may take longer than anticipated.

Technical Requirements

Applicants should have experience with residential and commercial plumbing systems and be proficient in common plumbing materials and installation methods, including:

• Copper fitting

• Soldering and brazing

• PVC

• CPVC

• PEX crimp systems

• Uponor cold expansion

• Cast iron

• Residential plumbing systems

• Commercial plumbing systems

Working knowledge of company-approved gas piping methods, including galvanized piping and corrugated stainless steel systems, may also be required when assigned and properly qualified.

Applicants should also be able to:

• Read and interpret blueprints.

• Read manufacturer literature and installation requirements.

• Interpret plans and submittals.

• Locate and interpret applicable Florida Building Code and Plumbing Code requirements.

• Use tablets and computers.

• Communicate through email and company applications.

• Use digital photography for service documentation.

• Work with InFlow and other company systems.

Journeyman’s license preferred, but not required.

Additional Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.

• Ability to safely operate a company service vehicle.

• OSHA 10-Hour certification.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to stand for extended periods.

• Ability to work in attics, crawlspaces, exterior environments, and other typical plumbing service conditions.

• Ability to safely work in South Florida heat.

Service Area

The primary service area for this position includes:

Palm Beach County, Martin County, and St. Lucie County, Florida.

Occasional travel outside the normal service area may be required depending on company needs.

A valid driver’s license is required.

A passport is not required, but is preferred for potential future company travel.
